My Trip to London

Selfridges
I definitely got my 'shopping on' at Selfridges...

Selfridges is a chain of high end department stores in the United Kingdom. It was founded by Harry Selfridge. We visited the flagship store in London's Oxford Street which is the second largest shop in the UK (after Harrods) and was opened on 15 March 1909.

Paper airplanes dangling for several stories of the store.

Here's Kathy - the mirror was surrounded by Swarovski Crystals. In US dollars the pricetag on this mirror is a mere $42,000!!!! Yup, get out your Tulip Iron-On Crystals and have at it!!!

I don't get the paper airplanes, but they were cool - these were made from phone book pages.

A man made entirely from jelly beans...

These interesting decanters were at Selfridges - you pick a container and fill it up with vinegar, liquor, olive oil - whatever meets your fancy.

Chocolate HATS!!! Yes, it was certainly a hat trip!

Commemorative Coke bottles at Selfridges.

Another Selfridges display window...yellow gloves, hands, gnomes...go figure!

My Trip to London

Day 4 - Who Knows!!!
I thought I could do this by days, but each wonderful day melted into another. So, here are some odds and ends photos from my trip.

Here's how fish and chips are served. I'm used to a basket with a tissue liner and several separate pieces of fish.

I'm planning a trip to the Museum of Glass in Washington this summer, so I was surprised to see this amazing Chihuly piece hanging in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London - stunning - in fact, that was my word for my trip - STUNNING!!!

I took some photos around the Henderson's home - eggs from the White House Easter Egg Roll - wow! I'm impressed.

Kathy loves roosters and anything patriotic - here's a patriotic origami bird.

Selfridges is celebrating it's 100th year and I just had to take a picture of the rubber duckies gracing one of their windows.
