Make Your Own Sugar Hand Scrub



Rub one teaspoon of this delightful mixture between your hands and on the backs for a few seconds, rinse (you might need a little dish soap to remove the coconut oil) and your hands will feel amazing!

What You’ll Need
1 cup cane or raw sugar
1 cup coconut oil
Lemon zest, lavender or rose petals
Essential oils (optional)
Mixing bowl
Spoon
Containers for storing scrub
Embellishments and glue

How to Make It
1. Melt coconut oil in microwave. (for my class we melted it in a small crock pot.
2.      Place sugar in bowl or cup.  Pour in coconut oil. Stir to mix. Add in lemon, lavender or rose petals. If desired, add essential oil. Mix.
3.      Using spoon, carefully place scrub in storage containers.
4.   Glue on desired embellishments.

What You'll Need
  • Notebook with Clear Front Pocket
  • Family Photo
  • Background - Print Graphics on Computer or Use Construction Paper and Stickers or Have a Member of Your Family Draw a Picture
  • Stick Glue
  • Scissors
  • Computer with Printer
How to Make It!

1. Print family photo, title of cookbook and background page.
2. Cut cookbook title and family photo desired size and shape. Glue to background paper with stick glue.
3. Slip in front pocket of notebook.


Copy or type-up your favorite recipes and decorate these pages too!

Wire Art for Plants

Add some art to that plant you're giving as a gift or spruce up your own walls!

What You'll Need
10 gauge wire or metal coat hanger
Round items to make curves in wire
Plant
Straight nose pliers
Wire cutters
Paper cone

How to Make It
1. For coils, grasp one end of wire with straight nose pliers, making a small loop. Move pliers down wire as you twist wire to desired size of loops.
2. Form curves below coils by wrapping wire around round items of desired sizes.
3. For plant stake, leave 8" straight at end of wire.
4. For wall hanger, lay wire shape on work surface after curves are formed. Bend wire up at a 45 degree angle 2" below last curve. Shape three more coils in wire to hold cone.

Another quick gift idea - this one's for the shoe lover on your list, but this could be used for anyone - just change the theme.

Snazzy Shoe Gift Ideas

Supplies:
Canvas bag or towels
Fusible web
Fabric: animal print, black
Scissors
Iron & ironing surface

Steps:
1. Freehand design or use clipart. Trace on paper side of fusible web. Cut out, leaving a 1/2" border.
2. Lay traced fusible web on back of animal print fabric, with paper side facing up. Iron to fabric according to the manufacturer’s instructions on packaging.
3. Repeat step #2 with shoe top, on black fabric.
4. Cut out around edges.
5. Peel off paper backing and iron both pieces to bag/towel, placing pieces of shoe together to complete image.
Option: Sew around edges of fabric with a zigzag or applique stitch.
